	Farm in the Puszta area Hungarian folk night			Puszta might be the most colorful steppe area of Hungary. It is situated in the northern part of the country. The area has a century old history and som traditions can be witnessed in the nature park in Hortobagy, at lake Tisza, in the kingdom of Jazyges or in the historical cities that once were inhabited by the Haiduk soldiers that belonged to the Prince of Transsylvania, Istvan Bocskai (1200th century). Other important attractions are the beautiful churches and folklore in the Upper Tisza region, the thermal baths, interesting museums and a historical wealth that is spread over the entire area. Puszta is famous for its special traditions, the abundance of the local kitchen and the handicraft traditions, mostly in ceramics, bronze, leather and embroidings and the hungarian “csikós”, the sheperd that sometimes has horse shows.
