EMILIA
ROMAGNA stretches like a triangle in the north central part of Italy,
bounded by the regions Veneto in the north, Lombardia in the west, Marche
in the east and Liguria and Tuscany in the south. The landscape is mostly
flat land with a beautiful nature and beautiful beaches in the north and
mountain areas in the south at the mountain chain the Appeninians. These
two parts are separated by the old roman way – Via Emilia and along this
you find some of the important cities of the regions like: Piacenza, Parma,
Modena and Bologna - the first university city of Europe and the capital
of the region.![]() All these cities have a unique history, a fantastic architechture, invaluable art treasures and a well developed industry production. Emilia Romagna has a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters except for the coast that has a milder climate. When it comes to tourism the region is mostly famous for its beach resorts along the Adriatic coast like Lido di Nazioni, Lido Spina, Lido Adriano, Milano Marittima, Cervia, Cesenatico, Rimini and Riccione. Besides the beautiful and long sandy beaches that are lined with hotels, apartments, bars, restaurants, discotheques, sport facilities and shops, these locations are perfect starting points for interesting and exciting excursions to nearby cities like Venice, Comacchio, the Republic of San Marino and why not Verona, Florence or Lake Garda. The region is famous for its gastronomical specialities, great wines, interesting folk festivals that fit most of the visitors.
