The village is situated in the north central part of Italy, ca 40 km from Bormio, ca 130 km from Bolzano, ca 190 km from Innsbruck, ca 235 km from Milan and ca 420 km from Venice. In the 1600th century Livigno got its religious and economical freedom, both Napoleon and the Austrian-Hungarian empire approved to this, and it was reconfirmed by EG in 1960. There are manu shops here today and you can find merchandise from several famous labels. Livigno is the vacation resort that surprises its visitors with the low prices of both food and clothes.
