Skiing in both Italy and France - Mont Blanc - The highest peak in Europe!


COURMAYEUR - Also called the little pearl of the Aosta valley, surrounded by the Mont Blanc massif. One of the oldest and most famous ski resorts in Italy, and it is not only known for the great skiing, but also for the elegant buildings and the gentle atmosphere. At first Courmayeur was a thermal health village, but now it is one of the most important ski villages in the world, and has a perfect combination between spectacular slopes and a feeling of beeing at a enchanted and exclusive place. In 1680 the first "inn's" were inagurated, and today there are over 70 hotels and a big number of apartments avalible. The skiing takes place between a height of 1224 m and 3843 m, on both the north eastern and the north western part. The Checrouit slopes offers skiing at a height of 2746 m. Here there are no trees, and here you have the best morning sun! A total of 25 slopes and 27 lifts. The north eastern part hasn't got that many slopes, but the ones you find here are wide, and often pass through forests. The afternoon sun and the incredible view over the highest peak in Europe Mont Blanc (4810 m) creates harmony and a feeling of well being.Via 3 lifts you can reach the peak Helbronner (3470 m), and from there you can choose to take the cabin lift to Aiguille du Midi or to ski along the 18 km long Valle Blanche into France. On the way back from Chamonix you can experience the 12 km long Mont Blanc tunnel. Courmayeur is the ski village with the best range of restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and discotheques. You can choose to sit outside in the sun at one of the many outdoor restaurants, or you can sit inside of one of the many cosy pubs and enjoy the great feeling of beeing on vacation. Just watch the Italians, enjoy the delicious food and drinks, and listen to some great music!

COURMAYEUR-RESORT INFORMATION
LOCATION: North western Italy, ca 33 km from Aosta, ca 106 km from Geneve, ca 150 km from Torino, ca 212 km from Milan. SLOPES: 110 km pist, 33slopes (1 black, 12 red, 9 blue, 11 green). Offpist: Valle Blanche and Mer de Glase. Also summer skiing. LIFTS: 31 lifts with a total capacity of ca 30.000 pers/h. SKI BUS: Yes.CROSS COUNTRY SKI: 35 km prepared tracks at the Ferret valley. SKI SCHOOL: Over 100 teachers have education in different languages, for all category skiiers.SKI RENTAL: On location: slalom and lenght skiing, boots, staffs and snowboard equipment. OTHER SPORT POSSIBILITIES: ice skating, curling, tennis, squash,horse back ridning, swimming, roller skating. HOTEL DEI CAMOSCI***
Typical mountain construction, it is realised in wood and stones. The Hotel is immersed in a marvellous natural set, to the presence of the majestic Mont Blanc Chain, about 800 mt far away from the Courmayeur centre, on the roadway towards Val Veny and Val Ferret.
Rooms: large rooms, equipped with private facilities with sponge linen, hairdryer, sat tv colour, direct phone.
Services and Facilities: many common spaces furnished with style, such as the reception, bar, restaurant; the structure has moreover parking, a solarium, a private garden, a ski bus service for the cableway. There is an equipped wellness centre nearby the structure.
The Ski Runs: about 1,2 Km far away from the cable ways' depart, free ski bus service offered by the structure.
HOTEL STELLA DEL NORD***
The hotel is located in the peaceful hamlet of Dolonne, at the foot of Mont Blanc enjoying a particularly favourable view as it is guarded over by the imposing figure of the Giant's Tooth. This building lies 800 metres away from Courmayeur,with the Ice Rink and Return Ski Route to Skiing District of Chècrouit close by.The Hotel "Stella del Nord" is distinguished by its typical family style running,offering comfortable rooms with TV, safe, telephone, private bathroom and lift. The Hotel also has a car park, indoor garage and a green area surrounding the building.In the reception area there is a TV Room and Breakfast Hall. 100 metres far from the Meublè there is a baby Skilift and a small cross-country track.
HOTEL AIGLE**
A small family hotel, located in Entreves, ca 300 m from the lifts and ca 1 km to a sport centre with possibilities to ice skate, curling, tennis, squash, climbing. 15 rooms, all with shower/wc, hairdryer, telephone, TV, safety box, some rooms have balcony. The Hotel has a restaurant , a bar and a pivate parking lot.


APARTMENTS IN COURMAYEUR
RESIDENCE LES CLOCHES: those appartements are located in the hamlet of La Saxe at about 700 meters, 10 minutes walking,  from the pedestrian zone of Courmayeur. Appartments : a garage  car space is included in the rates for each appartment. All apartments have a colour TV, direct outside access, balcony or loft. Services and equipments : garage, reserved garden. The ski area: the residence is located at about 3,5 km from the main Courmayeur cableway ski resort.

RESIDENCE CHECROUIT enjoys a splendid view of the chain of Mont Blanc and is situated in a quite and very sunny position, distant 350 m. from the centre of Courmayeur and 250 m. from the cable car . Its position allows guests to move freely without use of a car, being  near to shops and enterterinment. Restaurant/Pizzeria arranged 250 m. from the Residence.
All apartments are recently rinnovated and have private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, telephone, TV, kitchenette equipment and provided with hot plates, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Apartments are also well furnished and very comfortable.
There's also a small coffee bar for the guests. Other services: lift, private parking, warmed storage of ski and ski boots, solarium, paying service of laudry on request.
