LES ARCS- The ski paradise with an exciting alpine enviroment, and suitable architecture, has a enchanting view over the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc and the Isere valley. In Les Arcs there are four smaller villages situated. All on a height between 850-2000 m above sea level. The largest of them is called Bourg St. Maurice (850 m above sea level), and it has it’s own bus- and train station. From here you can take a lift to Arc 1600, this lift carries 280 people. If you want to go to Arc 1800 or Arc 2000 you can take the bus or a lift. From Bourg St. Maurice there also are buses to nearby ski villages like Val d’Isere and Tignes, where you can ski at a height between 1200-3226 m above sea level. Les Arcs is world known for having the fastest slope in the world, (233km/h at the World Championships in speed skiing), and also for having one of the longest and most exciting slopes- 7 km long, and at a height of 2026 m. And next to this there are about 200 km of slopes, 144 pisted slopes (13 green, 50 blue, 38 red,16 black). There is also 2750 hectare of offpist and 3850 hectare nature reserve. There are two different lift cards: The Versant lift card which is avalible in 38 lifts in Arc Pierre Blanche, and Arc 1800, and also for 21 lifts in Arc 2000 and Villaroger (except the Aiguille Rouge area). If you still aren’t pleased with that, you can buy the Garand Domaine lift card which is avalible in the entire Les Arcs area with 78 lifts. In Les Arcs there is room for everyone, regular skiiers, snowboarders (there is a halfpipe), telemarkers, but also for the ones that like Ski-Jumping or speed skiing, Except skiing there is possible to play squash, to go climbing, horse back riding, bowling, hang gliding, paragliding, ice skating, swimming and scooter driving. After a day of skiing the afterski awaits you. There are plenty of bars and pubs. The night you can spend at one of Les Arsc cosy cafées, restaurants, night clubs or “dunking” discos. There is also a museums, a movie theatre (7 saloons), some shopping malls, and many different shops and boutiques.
