Not far away from Budapest (ca 145 km) you find one of the most beautiful lakes of Europe: Lake Balaton, that also is called “the Sea of Hungary”, partly because of its size. Lake Balaton is almost 600 sqkm big. With its special attraction power, the lake is one of the most attractive vacation resorts in Hungary. A ideal beach resort for adults and for children (only 12m deep), a eldorado for sport interested, a large range of activities and entertainment. Close to the lake there are important historical remainings you can visit and many small cities like Balatonföldvar where several artists have settled down.
