VENETO is located in north eastern Italy and borders to the mountain
chain the Dolomites in the north, Lombardy in the south, the Adriatic coast
in the east and the Po field, named after the big river, in the south. The
region is cold around the mountains, with warm summers and cold winters
around the Po field and a little milder around the coast. When you mention
Veneto you may come to think of the old lake republic Venice with the channels,
palaces and art heritages or other historical cities like Verona- the city
of Romeo and Juliette, Vicenza - famous for the gold and jewel industry
or Padova- one of the most important economical cities of Italy.
The eastern part of Lake Garda is also included in the Veneto region. This area has many beautiful locations like Sirmionem Pescheria Lazise and Bardolino. The tourism of Veneto in mainly represented by Venice, but also by alpine villages during the summer and the winter season. The most famous village is the exclusive Cortina d’Ampezzo (home arena for the Winter Olympic Games of 1956). There are also famous beach villages like Lido di Jesolo, Caorle and Bibione with long beaches and shallow water. These villages are perfect for families. Here there are hundreds of hotels, apartments, shops and entertainment. From Veneto it is easy to visit Tuscany, other beach resorts around the Adriatic coast, or beautiful nature in different alpine areas in the south Tyrol like Val Gardena, Arabba and Val di Fassa. Veneto- for a relaxing and comprehensive vacation for every age!
