    BUCOVINA (north eastern Romania): Here you find several ortodox monasterys with amazing icons from the 1500- century, with motives from the Bible. They are easy to understand, and they attraced the attention of Unesco, that now protects them. Every year thousands of tourists pilgrimage to see the beautiful paintings.

MOLDOVA (eastern Romania): This region is widely known for its important historical cities, for its wineyards that produce famous Conari wines and all the fruit trees that grow in the hilly area.

DOBROGEA (south eastern): In Dobrogea you find the famous Danube delta, an amazing area where hundreds of different animal species build a unique environment,a european djungle where the sun light is captured and reflected like in a beautiful painting. Here you can enjoy wonderful dishes, like different fish soups and other delicious, local meals.

OLTENIA (southern):Several big monasterys like Horezu, Govora, Dintr-un lemn (built out of boards from one single tree)- real culture centres. The famous mineral water springs of the area has founded many health centres in the area like Olanesti, Govora and Cãlimãnesti. Here you treat different injuries and diseases. In Târgu Jiu you can see many sculptures created by Constantin Brâncusi, or even better, the caves in Polovraci.

BANAT (western Romania), from the mountains in Banat there are crystal clear streams murmuring. Here you find Bâile Herculane, one of the oldest health centres in Romania. You also find mountain springs like the ones at Semenic and Muntele Mic (The small mountain).

Timisoara - The flowering city that dates back to the 1000th century, close to the border of Yugoslavia, 567 km from Bucharest. MARAMURES (north western Romania) is famous for its old traditions that still are kept alive, and the incredible landscapes. The dominating material is wood: wood churches with skyhigh towers, the parks are filled with wood sculptures and many other objects are made out of wood. Music and dancing are important cultural elements. Not far away from the norhest point of the region, Sighet, in the village Sapanta you find the worlds only “happy cemetery”. This reflects the optimistic view on life and death the inhabitants of the area have. On every gravestone there is an ironic poem about the deceased.

Baia Mare - a city at the river Sasar, ca 500 km from Bucharest. Here you find old mines, a centre from the medieval times, many buildings that are worth seeing and an antique castle. *Historical museum*Art museum (with an art school)*Etnographic museum*The Dutcher bastion from the Middle Ages.

TRANSILVANIA (western and central Romania), “The home of Count Dracula”, the region has many medieval cities like Sibiu, Medias, Sighisoara,Alba Julia and a whole lot of culture and architecture.
