BUCOVINA (north eastern
Romania): Here you find several ortodox monasterys with amazing icons from
the 1500- century, with motives from the Bible. They are easy to understand,
and they attraced the attention of Unesco, that now protects them. Every
year thousands of tourists pilgrimage to see the beautiful paintings. Suceava - The city was the capital of Moldavia between 1388 and 1566. Here you can enjoy wonderful dishes, like different fish soups and other delicious, local meals. Tulcea - A city in the northern part of the delta. OLTENIA (southern):Several big monasterys like Horezu, Govora, Dintr-un lemn (built out of boards from one single tree)- real culture centres. The famous mineral water springs of the area has founded many health centres in the area like Olanesti, Govora and Cãlimãnesti. Here you treat different injuries and diseases. In Târgu Jiu you can see many sculptures created by Constantin Brâncusi, or even better, the caves in Polovraci. Timisoara - The flowering city that dates back to the 1000th century, close to the border of Yugoslavia, 567 km from Bucharest. Baia Mare - a city at the river Sasar, ca 500 km from Bucharest.
