The antique city Obuda, with remainings from the stone age, was an independent city until 1873, when it was united with Buda and Pest forming together the city of Budapest. The ground below the city is rich with fissures from where the thermal water bubbles up and maintains 12 baths.

A two thousand year old roman amphitheatre, 400 years old turkish baths, buildings in Jugend style and a city plannig that reminds you of Vienna and Paris. 237 national monuments and art galleries, 40 theatres, 54 movie theatres, 7 concert halls, 2 operas and ca 200 entertainment premises of varying range and also possibilities to go on boat trips and bus tours in the city.
